The Best and Worst Cities for Men to Live

Outdoor Armor

Winter work isn’t any fun. At least now you’ll look good doing it

Most outerwear is either stylish or functional. Rarely both.  That’s why we love this Ralph Lauren ensemble. The jacket shrugs off rain, wind, and snow, and won’t look weathered afterward. The boots remain comfortable and sturdy, no matter what you tread upon. And the gloves—thin as they are—are surprisingly warm, thanks to an inner layer of fleece. Pricey? Sure. But if you buy these pieces this year, you’ll wear them for 10.

Are we really supposed to believe that $1,200 for a pair of boots is a good deal. Come on. This is what I hate about these kinds of magazines. The magazine should be discussing clothing for real men. Not throwing in a free advertisement.

They have to pay their employees somehow...I agree bro.

The boots are expensive, but the jacket and gloves are reasonably priced. If the boots are very well made and last several years, I'll spend $1200 on a pair. You get what you pay for.

I have been an avid reader of your magazine since i was about 17 and if your guys could find boots that look like these suckers but at a lower price..i would go out there and get em immidiately.
But apart from the rediculously priced luxury good...keep up the good work with the rest of the magazine.

Umm... pricing aside I'm not sure what "winter work" you expect to be doing wearing this?
When I think of winter work I think of things like shovelling snow from my driveway... not walking down a sidewalk which is about all this looks useful for.

Those wouldnt last 10 days in the real working world. and who would spend $1200 for work boot when timberlands are also waterproof and only $150?!!

I'm not sure what kind of "man" wears this stuff (or thinks that boots that last a few seasons are worth $1200), but, if you want a real man's upscale outdoor gear list it would be:

Danner Raptor's: $285

Filson Tin Cloth Outfitter Coat: $197

Filson Deer Skin Gloves: $40

Not to mention you can not find either the coat or the boots on the ralphlauren.com website.......

I like the coat and gloves but echo other comments...can't find them anywhere. You guys might want to actually make sure stuff exists before you publish it. As for boots, IMHO nothing tops Oakley Boots... check out their All Mountain $135.00. You can put on any Oakley boot right out of the box and take off on a 75 mile trek without a blister... I did! most comfortable boot you will ever wear.

It's wonderful that you write an article about these items, but where the hell can someone buy them?!
They are NOT listed at the website provided, nor can they be found using a Google or Yahoo search. I went to several Ralph Lauren stores & they don't even have a clue about these items...so which "select stores" are they being sold at?

The gloves are at the link below. Everything else is too exclusive to be found online.

Those boots are total B.S. Would fall apart far before a good pair of danner boots that cost $150 bucks.
